Serving Newport News through housing leadership, human services advocacy, small business ownership, and direct service to families.
I am running because Newport News needs leadership that moves beyond studies, committees, and good intentions. Planning matters, but residents deserve implementation, accountability, and measurable results. My experience is rooted in direct service, housing oversight, human services advocacy, nonprofit leadership, and small business ownership.
As a Commissioner on the Newport News Redevelopment and Housing Authority Board, I serve in a role directly connected to housing, redevelopment, and the needs of residents impacted by affordability, neighborhood conditions, and community investment.
As a member of the Newport News Human Services Advisory Board, I help review and advise on issues that affect families, seniors, people with disabilities, and residents experiencing hardship.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I assess needs, solve problems, and work directly with individuals and families navigating mental health, housing, disability, and economic challenges.
As a small business owner and former nonprofit executive, I have managed budgets, staff, grants, compliance, and service delivery. I understand that leadership is not just about announcing ideas; it is about making sure they actually work.
From Intention to Implementation
Newport News has had no shortage of studies, task forces, committees, and initiatives. The problem is not always a lack of ideas. Too often, the problem is a lack of follow-through. I believe City Council must do more than launch programs and review reports. Council must set clear goals, track outcomes, communicate with residents, and make sure public actions lead to real community impact.
My commitment is simple: I will bring the voice of families, residents, workers, and small businesses into every policy conversation and push for decisions that are transparent, measurable, and connected to the realities people live every day.
